The Beverly Rogers, Carol C. Harter Black Mountain Institute is a world-renowned hub for innovative media and literary activism based in the vibrant, multicultural city of Las Vegas, NV. From their home base at the University of Nevada, BMI facilitates interaction between local talent, emerging and distinguished writers, and artists from around the world, in addition to publishing the acclaimed literary magazines Witness and The Believer.

With the launch of BMI’s new, CMYK-designed and developed website, we saw the culmination of nearly two years’ work that included not only the site itself, but a total reimagination of the Institute’s branding and visual identity, from logos and wordmarks to business cards and other collateral. Drawing upon the dichotomy of Las Vegas’ storied neon sculptures along the Strip and the wild beauty of the mountains that surround the city, we created an identity at once electric and naturally vibrant, with a color palette pulled the setting desert sun and placed against a lush dark background.

The design for the BMI was featured in the Top 10  Non-Profit and Charity Website Designs on DesignRush as one of the best website designs.
