BROOKLYN, NY (NOVEMBER 8, 2024) — Patrol Base Abbate (PB Abbate), a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to veterans, has partnered with CMYK, a Brooklyn-based digital agency, to launch a Veterans Day social media campaign – “SAVe – Support A Veteran” dedicated to raising awareness and sharing the stories of veterans affected by the mental challenges of reintegrating into civilian life. This campaign seeks to educate the public and provide much-needed support to the community, with proceeds going directly to PB Abbate’s essential programs, which focus on creating safe spaces for mental health and open, healthy communication among veterans.
The campaign brings light to the reality that non-combat veterans are 68 percent more likely to die by suicide than combat veterans by spotlighting unique stories from noncombat veterans returning from service. Over 200,000 veterans transition to civilian life each year. Also each year, 7,000 veterans die as a result of suicide due to the challenges of reentering civilian life. PB Abbate’s programs, supported by $15/month donations, give veterans a place to refuel and find community, offering life-saving support and connection.
The campaign will run on Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook and feature stories from noncombat veterans in the PB Abbate community, as well as resources, and information on how individuals can make a difference by donating to PB Abbate. Each piece of content honors the stories of veterans and promotes PB Abbate’s vision of safe, inclusive spaces for healing and connection, uniting veterans and supporters alike in a powerful community effort.
“PB Abbate has shown a remarkable commitment to empower veterans to build and strengthen their personal communities, creating safe spaces where veterans can openly discuss their experiences and mental health challenges,” said Chris Langer, co-founder of CMYK. “Through this partnership, we aim to amplify that mission, reduce stigma, and encourage others to support those who have served our country.”
The campaign will debut on PB Abbate’s social channels on November 11, 2024 and continue through November with the goal to raise $250K in donations to support PB Abbate’s mission.
