Multiple episodic-style series aims to highlight unseen stories and perspectives of the museum and its exhibits
Brooklyn, NY (November 21, 2024) – CMYK, a leading creative agency, partnered with the Yale Peabody Museum to produce a captivating series of short-form videos to enhance the museum’s newly renovated visitor experience. The project, following a four-year renovation, includes 50 video pieces that explore the museum’s vast collection, offering fresh insights through expert perspectives and engaging content.
Working in collaboration with the Peabody’s team, CMYK developed unique episodic series concepts, ranging from youth-led interviews of museum experts to a deep dive into the smallest items in the museum’s 14 million artifacts. The videos, filmed on location with a specialized crew, highlight contributions from archaeologists, paleo-botanists, and preservation specialists, bringing topics such as ancient Mesopotamia, entomology and dinosaur eggs to life.
“Through our collaboration, we have created a dynamic and modern museum experience by integrating educational video content directly into the museum’s mobile platform, Amuse,” said Chris Langer, co-founder of CMYK. “We didn’t just create digital supplements to the physical exhibits; we also provided visitors with meaningful, on-demand access to new perspectives they otherwise would not have had.”
The videos are primarily distributed via the Amuse App, but episodes are also optimized for YouTube and social media, ensuring wide accessibility and lasting value. As part of the long-term strategy, CMYK is leading workshops with Yale students, training them in creative processes and offering hands-on experience in content production.
