The Shift Project
Founded in 2011 by the team of researchers, academics, and activists that drafted and promoted the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGP), Shift Project is the leading center of expertise on the UNGP, and works across all continents and sectors to challenge assumptions, push boundaries, and redefine corporate practice, in order to build a world where business gets done with respect for people’s dignity.
With such an important mission—and one that is necessarily global, with a diverse user base—it was imperative for Shift to have a comprehensive and adaptable web platform to promote their activities and resources. Prior to enlisting the aid of CMYK in building such a platform, Shift was saddled with an outmoded and inefficient CMS back-end, making updates a laborious process for staff and confusing for visitors to the site.
With an eye toward solving this once and for all, we did what we do best: we pulled all of the thousands of pieces of content and transferred them to a brand-new, fully customized WordPress back-end, and reformatted them into a look-and-feel that not only better organized and displayed content, but also provided the organization with a modern and professional design aesthetic that they could be proud of.
