Phaedo Creative is a content studio based in Washington, D.C. that focuses on animated storytelling, mini documentaries, video essays, and educational media. They’re also our partners in an ongoing animated series that explores the long history of constitutional law in the United States.

Centered around a group of esteemed legal professionals and educators discussing their craft, each video uses an alternating collection of animated sequences and live-action narrative to lend life to the subject at hand and make difficult topics easier to understand.

Working with two of our favorite collaborators (illustrator Barry Bruner and animator Nayon Cho), we took scripts produced by Phaedo on a wide-range of constitutional law topics and created—to date—nearly two dozen animated videos, with another 50 in the pipeline!

Animations of any length can be a time consuming process, but these videos needed to be rolled out quickly in order to prevent the client’s content flow from drying up. With this in mind, we settled on a workflow that allowed us stay in constant motion and move through each video with maximum speed and efficiency. In the course of just a few months, we were able to turn the scripts and narration content provided by Phaedo into fully illustrated and animated videos ready to serve aspiring legal scholars everywhere.

Stay tuned in 2019 for new installments in this series!
