Asian American Law Caucus

Celebrating 50 years of the first AAPI legal advocacy group

Project Intro

Advancing Justice | ALC is a non-profit organization that fights for the rights of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. Founded in 1972 as the first Asian American legal and civil rights organization, AALC works to advance the civil and human rights of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders through education, litigation, and public policy advocacy. They also provide legal assistance to Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders who have been discriminated against or violated their civil rights.

CMYK created a virtual stage for in celebration of the organization’s 50th anniversary gala- comprising interactive touchpoints, access to resources, and calls to action in support of the organization’s vital mission.

We started by translating the event’s unique digital language into a virtual environment. Using palette and type, we invited guests worldwide to feel as connected to the livestream as physical attendees at the event. Dedicated sections for resources, program material, and calls for donation created a setting that was equally dynamic and inviting.

A registration process allowed the organization to connect meaningfully with the digital audience- collecting information that could then be used to strengthen nationwide relationships with motivated contacts. A chatbox during the live event gave attendees the ability to react, interact, and involve themselves more fully than simply as viewers.

Multiple pathways for sharing the event, its resources, and its calls to action were made accessible and engaging through thoughtful approaches to interface. By providing many means of engaging with the streaming site and its content, digital attendees are encouraged to explore, learn, and get involved.
