A media artist and choreographer originally from Southern California, Adam Scher brings a strong aesthetic to the creative and art direction of all projects at CMYK. His broad experience and background act as a foundation to create innovative and unique design solutions.
Adam specializes in UIUX, motion graphics and experiential design. His ability to interpret and distill client messaging to its core is exhibited in the elegant, succinct and impactful animations he created for McKinsey and Company. His skill at innovating on traditional ideas is exemplified in his work for medical device multinational, Brainlab. To communicate Brainlab’s range of – often intimidating – cancer treatment products to consumers and their own internal sales force, Adam concepted a clever comic book which anthropomorphized the products, turning them into a cancer-fight super hero squad – and making these products more relatable, understandable and fun at the same time.
Before co-founding CMYK, Adam was an Interactive Art Director at Draft FCB, where he art directed and designed multiple, interactive physician campaigns and subcampaigns for Merck, GSK and Bristol Meyers Squibb.
Adam’s experiential design work fuses together digital installations with live performance. He has presented and produced installations for AUNTS, Galapagos Arts Space, Solar One, Dixon Place, 92nd St. Y, the danceNOW festival, Triskaleon Arts, the Irondale Center, Provincetown Dance Festival, Dumbo Arts Festival and Joyce Soho. Adam is an adjunct professor at New York University and Parsons the New School for Design. He received his MFA in Design and Technology from Parsons, The New School for Design and a BA from New York University’s Tisch School of the Art.
